San Francisco at Night: The Neon Lights of Broadway
In the North Beach district of San Francisco, Broadway has long been the street of clubs and glowing signs. This fine art photograph captures it at night, at 552 Broadway: the red neon of the Roaring 20’s, the yellow awning of Broadway Cigars & Liquors, a lit street lamp and purple façades that pick up the light of the signs.
A Street Lamp, Neon Signs and a Passer-by
The scene is held together by its colours: red and pink on the left, yellow and green in front of the shop, deep blue on the road. In the centre, a passer-by walks along the pavement, slightly blurred by the long exposure, which brings movement to a still façade. The street lamp separates the two signs and leads the eye across the whole image.
A Street That Has Changed
According to Reel SF, the Roaring 20’s closed during the pandemic, while Broadway Cigars & Liquors next door still trades under the same name. This photograph keeps the trace of the street at night as it looked when the picture was taken.
Limited Edition: 30 Numbered and Signed Prints
This photograph is issued in a limited edition of 30 prints only, each numbered and signed, on Dibond aluminium or under acrylic glass (Fuji Crystal print). A matte canvas print is also available, outside the limited edition. Every size is offered in a 3:2 format, from 30 × 20 to 180 × 120 cm depending on the finish.
Why Choose This Wall Art
Its saturated colours and night-time mood add character to a living room, an office, a bar or a hallway. It works especially well on a dark wall, above a sofa, where the neon colours stand out even more.
